April 5, 2016
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Recently, President Patton wrote to the Middlebury community to introduce Envisioning Middlebury, our yearlong conversation.
Today, I am writing to invite and encourage you to attend the inaugural event of that conversation onMonday, April 11 streamed live at 4:00 p.m. PT in V499 or at go.middlebury.edu/stream.
We’re thrilled to have Google Ventures (GV) founder and CEO Bill Maris ’97 back on campus. Bill invests in startups at the epicenter of science, technology, and medicine, oversees $2.4 billion in capital, and has funded more than 300 companies in the GV portfolio, including Uber, Slack, and Nest.
In his talk, “Vermont, Silicon Valley, and the Future,” Bill will share his perspective on his unpredictable career, how he went from Vermont to Silicon Valley, and how entrepreneurs and innovation will shape our future. This talk should provoke, challenge, and inspire us as we engage in conversations that envision the future of Middlebury.
Please join us!
Sincerely,
Susan Baldridge
